'SeeRed' - the Vintage Sports-Car Club's historic racing festival

Donington Park will welcome back old friends this weekend (May 21 & 22), as the Leicestershire venue hosts 'SeeRed' - the Vintage Sports-Car Club's historic racing festival, that offers a packed programme of races with cars dating from pre-war right up until the early 1960s. Running this weekend only, SeeRed brings the best vintage and historic cars and drivers together for two days of action-packed racing. With an incredible 17 races running over the two-day festival, cars from the vintage era will take to Donington's famous curves alongside pre-1961 historic Grand Prix cars, 1960s Sports Racing Cars, Formula Junior, Equipe GTS (50s and 60s production sports-cars) and Formula 3 (500s). Having raced at the venue since 1937, the Vintage Sports-Car Club is renowned for putting on great events at Donington, but this year moves to an earlier than usual slot, welcoming cars and drivers that acknowledge the achievements made in motorsport across six decades (Edwardian era to the 1960s). As an added bonus for fans, SeeRed will also welcome the legendary 24 Litre Napier-Railton Land Speed Record car too, thanks to the kind support of the Brooklands Museum. First raced at Brooklands in 1933, the Napier-Railton went on to break many Land Speed Record attempts, securing 42 world and international records between 1933 and 1937. With in excess of 300 competitors set to race at the weekend, an extremely diverse and rich selection of cars and a good long range weather forecast too, SeeRed looks set to be a must-see event for any motorsport enthusiast.Tags:,
