1101850_111115-cms-bThe UK’s biggest motoring event returns to Birmingham’s NEC from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th November, as enthusiasts from all over the world gather for the Classic Motor Show, with a record 2,500 classic cars and motorcycles on display. Event Director Daniel Nwaokolo said: “As the season finale, classic car and bike club members pull out all the stops, bringing with them fantastic displays of incredibly rare, beautifully kept and most importantly passionately preserved vehicles for all our visitors to enjoy. There’s also the final of the Meguiar’s Club Showcase, celebrating its tenth anniversary, which gathers the ‘best of the best’ classic cars from the year’s club events to decide which is the ultimate showcase winner. All eyes will be on local Coventry classic owner Ian Kimpton and his 1990 MG Maestro, who is hoping to follow in the footsteps of previous winner, Wolverhampton’s Adrian Evans and his 1969 Ford Cortina. New for 2015 is the show’s first ‘Pride of Ownership’ display for classic cars, boasting amazing rare vehicles including a skiff-bodied Packard by Nottinghamshire boat builder Steve Mills, and a limited edition Ford Mustang belonging to Kingstanding’s Luke Greenwood. After last year’s record breaking fundraising, the Sporting Bears will be operating even more Dream Rides as its tries to beat the £50,000 it raised in 2014. The charity fundraising club offers ten-mile rides as a passenger in one of the club’s amazing cars in exchange for a charitable donation. The size of the donation determines the status of the car… Wheeler Dealers Mike Brewer and Edd China will host a full-on line-up on the Live Stage with restoration challenges, competitions, and special guests including TV motoring mechanics Ant Anstead, from For the Love of Cars, local celebrity Fuzz Townshend, from Car SOS, and racing legends Sir Stirling Moss and Ross Brawn. Richard Morley, Operations Director for Lancaster Insurance comments: “Being headline sponsor is a huge honour and we’re immersing ourselves into the show theme by hosting our own unique version of ‘Miss World’, with six stunning international cars vying for the crown. We want you to help us decide which beauty takes the top spot and we’ll also be showcasing our Mini restoration project in aid of Prostate Cancer UK as well. It really will be the classic event of the year!” The 65,000+ motoring enthusiasts expected can also enjoy expert advice in the Restoration Theatre, buy themselves a classic car in Silverstone Auctions two-day or browse over 600 trade and Autojumble stands offering a wide range of parts, spares, tools, motoring services and memorabilia.
