The second Retro Rallycross event brought an increase in the entry with James Harrold and Barry Stewart joining the field, and a high level of interest in the new series for class cars. Winner of the first event last month, Ray Morgan (Hastings) retired from the first heat, but was back to his usual form in the second and third in both of which he was fastest. Harrold was put out of the event by an engine bay fire in his turbocharged Beetle at the end of the second heat while Lance Foster retired his Mini from the event with technical problems after practice. Morgan led the final all the way, Stewart close until spinning second place away in the last lap. That allowed Rob Gibson an easy way to second place, Stewart rejoining in third place, ahead of Ian Biagi and Greg Kalinecki.
