HSCCs International Trophy Even though entries are still open, the Historic Sports Car Club’s annual International Trophy meeting (18/19 May) is already shaping up to have a fabulous entry for a weekend of racing on the full Grand Prix circuit at Silverstone. As the club office gears up for a final rush of entries, the numbers already make impressive reading and the headline story is the Guards Trophy where the total entry is now 80 cars. The third round of the championship had already been divided across two grids at Silverstone and the current totals are 52 GT cars and 28 sports-racing cars. In 2012 the Guards Trophy was the best supported championship in British racing with a total of 130 registered contenders. However, the scale of the Silverstone entry is still remarkable as the corresponding event in 2012 attracted a total field of 63 cars. “It is already a fabulous Guards entry, and it could go a little higher still,” said Grahame White, CEO of the HSCC. Other notable fields include Classic Racing Cars (27), Formula Junior (39), Historic Formula Ford (37), while a total of 70 cars are now entered between the Historic and 70s Road Sports categories. The guest race for the GT and Sports Car Club has a quality field of 45 cars. “We are still taking entries, so we urge anyone who has not yet entered to contact the club office as quickly as possible. It is shaping up to be a wonderful weekend of historic racing on the Grand Prix circuit,” said White.Tags:,
