Historics At Brooklands Buoyant Spring Opener

Historics Spring sale, Saturday 12th March 2016. Brooklands Museum
  • 166 widely varying motor car consignments representing 42 different marques across eight decades, from 1930 to 2010.
  • 116 sold, representing a 70% sale ratio. Significantly, this is consistent with previous Historics results, including the last record sale at M-B World last November
  • Hammer revenue = £2.33 million
  • Total sale revenue (Hammer + commission + VAT) = £2.6 million
  • At this March 12th sale, Historics registered its highest-ever number of on-line bidder registrations, and a total on-line sale of around £250,000 revenue
  • As in all past sales, attendance was extremely high with a full auction hall

LOT 116: 2002 Renault Avantime Dynamique.  No Reserve.  SOLD: £4,000.  One of Renault's less successful cars and now very rare. Approx £24,000-£28,000 at the time. As in its name, well ahead of its time. A future classic.

Exceeded estimate.   A coachbuilt Alfa Romeo that's getting increasingly sought-after LOT 128:  1994 Brooke 190 ME.  No: 001.  Est: £16,000-£22,000. SOLD £20,160  Pre-dated Gordon Murray's 'Rocket'. The first ever made of very few. Great build. Great Fun. Not good for your hair-do. 500bhp per tonne LOT 133:  1980 M-B 450SL Roadster. £12,000-£16,000.
