Historic Formula OneAfter several years away from Silverstone, the FIA Historic Formula One Championship (HFO) is returning in the most spectacular way possible, supporting the British Grand Prix. HFO Chairman Dan Collins said “We received an invitation and of course jumped at the chance. We have been away from Silverstone for too long and to be invited to participate at the Grand Prix is just fantastic.” Collins went on to say “We have supported a number of other Grand Prix in the past but have not been to the British Grand Prix for some time. Although we have drivers from all over the world competing in the HFO Championship, they all feel there is something special about the British event. I am delighted we have been given this opportunity.” The grid, which is expected to exceed 30 cars, will include marques from the past such as Brabham, Arrows, Shadow, March and Tyrrell alongside period cars from current teams Williams, Lotus and McLaren. Event Status HFO is the only international historic championship for Formula One cars. Drivers from all nations affiliated with the FIA holding an international grade C licence or above are eligible to race with HFO and score points in the Championship. No additional approval from ASNs is required and the new provisions of Article 18 of the 2012 International Sporting Code are not applicable.
