Vintage VW Beetle Collection For Sale By Online Auction

Richard Temple of Eddisons and Rolf GardenerA private collection of 13 classic VW beetles, from 1970 to 1981, is currently for sale through an online auction website (www.eddisons.com/herbie). Among the collection is an assortment of painted body works including the famous ‘Herbie’ design and a distinctive striped bumblebee. A number of untouched restorations, barn finds, dust covered vehicles and Volkswagen camper vans also form part of the sale. Richard Temple, Associate Director at Leeds based Eddisons, the firm handling the online auction on behalf of current owner Rolf Gardener, says: ‘Some of the vehicles are taxed and road worthy while others are definitely restoration projects. Full descriptions and pictures of every one can be found on the website.’ Other vehicles being offered include a Volkswagen 181 Kubelwagen/Trekker first registered in 1974 and with less than 6,000 miles on the clock, a Bond Bug, an MG BGT sports car and a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow II. Meanwhile a 1936 Ariel 350cc and Jawa motorbike, two tandem bicycles and a range of vehicle parts are also available.
