There are less than 20 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS Coupé Villa d’Este left in the world: property of renown Duch collector Hans Ribbens, this specific car is considered one of the most elegant ever realised thanks to its beautiful lines. The car reached the favour of all judges who were together responsible for identifying the most beautiful car (from a technical and stylistic perspective) amongst those taking part in the event. The group of judges consisted of prominent names from the world of design and the automotive industry like Tom Tjaarda or the head of Style for the Fiat Group Lorenzo Ramaciotti: they had the hard task of carefully scrutinise all the entries, in accordance with a rigorous judging criteria. «The winning Alfa Romeo differed only a few tiny points from the car that reached second place: another Alfa Romeo, a 1938 6C 2300 B Mille Miglia berlinetta» says Adolfo Orsi, a well-known personality in the automotive world and head of the international panel of judges. The Gazprom – Neft special prize awarded the best car entered by a Russian collector: same car manufacturer once more, however the model was the one-off (1943) 6C 2500 S Cabriolet Pinin Farina belonging to Kostantin Moshkin.

“We have achieved a great result with this first year abroad, despite the fact that only a few really believed it would have been possible – states Sandro Binelli, Chairman of uniques –: we realized this show abroad, staging internationally the format that for the last three years proved to be a success in Florence. I want to thank the entrants, the institutions and the partners that made it possible and wish for everyone to join us once again next year”. The silver trophy awarded to the ‘Best of Show’ was designed by Stefano Ricci and was unveiled after two days of show and exclusive programme in some of the most spectacular places of Saint Petersburg. Starting from the exhibition area for cars: Kirov Park on Yelagin Island, one of the most exclusive island in the Neva delta. Many experts attending compared this stunning surrounding to the renown Parc De Bagatelle. The programme of the event also offered other ‘opportunities’: because “uniques is not just about cars”. Participants and some selected guests had the privilege of having a private visit to the Hermitage State Museum, followed by a concert in the Winter Palace from the State Hermitage Symphony Orchestra “St Petersburg Camerata”: the performance was directed by Fabio Mastrangelo, one of the most prominent conductor of his generation. During the concours the Theater of the Opera and Ballet of Saint Petersburg Conservatory Rimsky-Korsakov and the Quartet of the Hermitage Orchestra performed throughout the day.
