Solar Car Port For Charging Electric Vehicles Launched At The Cholmondeley Pageant Of Power

The Green Electrician, a leading installer of solar PV and energy efficient technologies within the UK, will be showcasing a new solar car port for electric vehicle charging at this year’s Cholmondeley Pageant of Power. The Green Car Port is one of the first of its kind and an illustration of the flexibility of renewable technologies and how they are advancing rapidly in the UK. Also on The Green Electrician’s stand will be the unique Rolls-Royce 102EX Phantom Experimental Electric, which Rolls-Royce quotes as having a range of around 120 miles from the 1,452-pound battery pack in the machine's engine. The car was designed and built to help gather data on how the electric model performs and to test the market for an electric Rolls-Royce. The solar car port, installed by The Green Electrician, is designed for use at home or in a commercial environment where drivers are able to charge their cars from energy generated from renewable sources. Car ports provide an ideal platform from which solar PV can be mounted to provide energy not only for charging vehicles but also to help generate power for nearby buildings; whether they are homes, offices or other commercial spaces. Stephen Davies, Sales Director at The Green Electrician comments: “As the cost of energy and fuel continues to rise, consumers and businesses are increasingly turning to renewable sources to save money and improve efficiencies. We believe ideas such as a solar car port will illustrate to visitors how flexible and effective renewables can be in offsetting the costs of day to day living.” The Green Electrician is a division of The Green Electrician Group that is headquartered in Cheshire with regional offices in the Midlands and South Wales and now employs more than 50 people across the country.
