4.1:1 differential

4.1:1 differential

Following the recent announcement about the availability of aluminium door and boot lid skins for the MGB, British Motor Heritage (BMH) is pleased to reveal that examples of the correct FIA front valance (early type, without holes) can also now be purchased. They give a weight saving of 1.4kg over the standard 2.2kg panel but, as racers know, every little helps! The retail price is £145.00 including VAT. Having had trouble sourcing one for the BMH MGB racer, the company has also commissioned a run of 4.1:1 differentials. Unlike some of the final drive units people are importing from overseas, these are high quality items supplied exclusively to BMH by a leading UK manufacturer and are priced at £495 plus VAT. Early orders are recommended, as this initial batch is relatively small in number. A polite reminder re MGB and Mini bodyshells There is still time to order MGB and Mini bodyshells for production this year. The MGB ones will be built for delivery in October, while the Mini ones are scheduled to reach customers in December. It is also worth noting that shells can be ordered in any chosen paint finish; a great way to get started on a rebuild, and a service of particular appeal to private customers. Finally, a reminder of a further build service available from BMH - the seam welding of MGB bodyshells destined for motorsport use. This saves the effort required to undertake the task once a body is complete and ensures the added stiffness is there from the outset. Shells can also be built incorporating the company’s range of aluminium panels – this is undoubtedly the most cost effective way of producing a fully race bodyshell, the pricing of which is obviously dependent upon the final specification. Examples are available direct from BMH by phoning +44 (0)1993 707200, via the internet from www.motoringclassics.co.uk, or from any Heritage Approved Specialist (see www.bmh-ltd.com for details).   British Motor Heritage
