Extra special rallycross event for Croft Circuit

North Yorkshire’s Croft Circuit has confirmed two extra fixtures to round out its 2013 motor sport season and it’s good news for the region’s rallycross and rallying fans. On Sunday 24 November Croft will host a special rallycross event to celebrate the famed BTRDA club’s 75th anniversary. Included are all the BTRDA’s rallycross categories but with no championships at stake it’s a one-off, free-for-all meaning the enticing prospect of some giant-killing performances. An ‘old school’ eight-cars-per-grid format will also be used with some 50 competitors having already lodged entries. On Saturday 28 December it’s the turn of the Northallerton Automobile Club’s annual Christmas Stages Rally, with all competitive timed stages held within Croft Circuit’s grounds. An entry of close to 100 cars from a wide variety of classes including historics, Eighties Group B and more recent WRC-spec machinery is the norm. Furthermore the event’s timing means it counts as the opening round of several major regional championships and also regularly attracts teams, cars and drivers from national and international series using it as a warm-up session for their seasons ahead.
