Classic rally films new on DVD
Enjoy classic rallying from the 1960s on DVD for just £16.99
Duke Videos brings together two wonderful films from the BP Video Library bursting with action from two spectacular events, each filled with the spirit and atmosphere of the special stages of the decade.
Lap of the Gods is an action-packed record of the 1966 Acropolis Rally,
where for two days and two nights, more than 100 crews fought a
gruelling battle against heat, appalling roads and continuous
eye-stinging, throat-choking dust. This film is a great chance to enjoy
the sights and sounds of classic cars from Mini, Saab, Sunbeam, Volvo,
Ford and more being pushed to the limit by legends like Roger Clark,
Paddy Hopkirk, Timo Makinen, Rauno Aaltonen and Gunnar Andersson.
The second film, Works Entry, follows 1963 Alpine Rally as it passes
through the towns, villages and picturesque countryside of the Maritime
Alps. It was another arduous, car-breaking event, and a rally which
provided plenty of entertaining footage for the enthusiast. There's a
wonderful collection of cars, including Mini Cooper, Reliant Sabre,
Hillman Imp, Saab 96 and Austin Healey 3000, and stars like Erik
Carlsson, Vic Elford, Aaltonen, Makinen and the Morley brothers, Donald
and Erle, heroically chasing a Alpine Gold Cup hat trick.
