Cheshire's Oulton Park circuit will become petrolhead heaven this weekend (14/15 July) as events are held both on and off track. In addition to a full programme of racing on Saturday, The Ultimate Classic Car Show will take place at the venue on both days. Over 2000 classic cars have been entered by 80 car clubs for the show, which will be set in the historic venue’s acres of parkland. Visitors will be able to view a huge collection of cars spanning the decades, and will have the opportunity to chat to the owners about them. Meanwhile owners of classic cars are encouraged to display their pride and joy free of charge. Both owners and aficionados will be able to take advantage of a trade area, including an autojumble and classic vehicle sales mart. The event is expected to have a party atmosphere, with rides for kids, camping on site, plus a bar and disco on the Saturday night. Whilst the track action on Saturday features racing from sports and saloon cars, Formula Ford single seaters, BMWs and Clubmans racers, on Sunday the proceedings will be a little more sedate, with parades around the circuit. In addition to hundreds of Minis, there will be a celebration of the MGB’s 50th anniversary. Tickets for the Ultimate Classic Car Show at Oulton Park on 14/15 July are available on the gate for £13 on Saturday and £10 on Sunday, with free entry for children aged 12 and under.
